被释放十五天后，她再度逃亡，未与任何人告别，只对她的母亲说了一句：“妈，我走了。”离开为自己哭泣的母亲，她带着三舅，每人花费十盎司黄金，穿越中国南海，十五天后抵达安全之地，旋即飞往德国。她回忆，当时想去美、法的人，须先滞留泰国难民营五年，而她自觉“去哪都行”。
